Celebrating

We celebrated my brother and his fiance last night with a couples shower at our house. It was a party for all their friends, no "adults" per say, so it was fun to get to talk to their friends and meet a lot of Melissa's friends that I have not met before. Preston partied for about 20 minutes and begged to go to sleep. Melissa and Mark got some beautiful gifts and we are so looking forward to their wedding in December!

3 Little Pigs BBQ. It is so cheap and so good!

The next morning, we were pumped for the UT/Georgia game. It's always a big day in our house. The dawgs won, and P wore his Georgia shirt.

Eating some breakfast
Friday was "Wear your favorite sports team" day, and he pitched a huge tantrum in the parking lot. He was still unhappy when I snapped this pic. Toddler attitude is the best.

Speaking of P, he has been busy lately.

Eating some peanut butter crackers

Visiting the train table at his favorite bookstore

Cheesing for the camera & being diagnosed with eczema. (see forehead, cheeks and chin) We got some meds from the pediatrician and it's all cleared up now! It tends to flare when his allergies flare.

Drawing on the chalkboard wall

Meeting Llama Llama! He was so excited. I did this without Brian and learned my lesson. Never again! Kids everywhere and a line for llama. There ended up being "llama drama" when Preston refused to wait in line and wanted Llama NOW. We had to do time out in the store. Quite an experience, but we got the picture and got out of there! :)
Preston has also been enjoying the weather. This is a portion of our yard. You can see leaves changing. Happy fall!

Sweet Weekend

Preston is sleeping in his swing, so I have a few minutes to update the blog - yay!

First of all, today he turns 10 weeks old. Double digits! Time is just flying. Preston's sleep routine is going GREAT! He has been going down for naps twice a day and going to bed around 9. He barely makes a peep and drifts off to sleep. One day I will blog about our little bedtime routine because it is just so sweet. I probably cherish that time the most with Brian, Preston and me.

This weekend, we had summer weather, which was sooo nice. We went to a wedding Saturday night downtown and saw lots of our friends. It's hard to get out now that Preston is here, so we kind of lived it up and stayed out until 11:30. Big night for us!! :)

Sunday, my friends Ashlea, Michelle and Robyn hosted a Sip & See for Preston. So many of my mom and mother-in-law's friends got to come meet Preston, which was great. We were also thankful for a few of our friends and family that came. It's neat to get people's reactions the first time they meet Preston. To hear who they think he looks like is a lot of fun!

Thank you so much Ashlea, Michelle and Robyn - especially for hosting it at your house! - for putting on such a sweet little party for him!

Little man was all dressed up for his coming out party. His outfit was his daddy's when he was a baby.

Nice little snacks and flower arrangement!

We got some great pics of Preston with his aunts! At one point, he fell asleep on Brittany and it was the sweetest thing.

Preston got held and walked around a lot by his Mimzie... my mother-in-law. Don't worry... Aunt Mallory was closely monitoring it all! :)

Love this picture of Preston and his godmother Robyn.

And of course, had to get a picture of family at the party...

Robyn's yard looked so pretty! All her azaleas were in bloom and her hostas are already huge. I am super jealous of her hostas... we have several at our new house, but they need to be divided and replanted. I was also super jealous of her confederate jasmine that just appeared in her backyard. It really looks great. One of these days, we'll get around to that. Speaking of the yard, we were over at Robyn's from 2 until about 6, and Brian worked in the yard the entire time we were gone. The amount of gumballs our trees drop is ridiculous. His work paid off though because the yard looks MUCH better.

The weekend must have worn Preston out because he fell asleep as soon as we laid him in his crib Sunday night and he slept 7 hours! Thank the Lord for sleep! :)

Christmas Wedding

One of Brian's best friends for pretty much his whole life got married this past weekend. I absolutely LOVE Christmas weddings. This time of year is so beautiful and there is so much celebrating going on that I think it's a great time to get married. All of the decorations, the church, the reception... everything had a beautiful Christmas feel to it. At the reception, the favor for guests was a special ornament to remember their wedding. So cool!

Here are some of the CBHS guys at the rehearsal dinner... this is one tight group of friends! Brian is so fortunate to have known these guys for so long and for them to have stayed close, even though they all went to different colleges.

The rehearsal dinner was at the Dixon... the food was really good and we had a fun group at our table :)

A few of the guys.... the groom, Blake, is sitting and has on a red tie.

Girlfriends and wives at the rehearsal dinner... Mary Hall, Ashley, me and Ashlea

The next day was the wedding. Brian looked so cute in his tuxedo. I always think he is handsome though :) Here are the bride and groom dancing their first dance. It was great!

Brian's family was invited to the wedding as well. Here's his dad and little sister having fun on the dance floor!

Brian and Robert loved the suspenders that came with their tuxedos :)

Towards the end of the wedding, CBHS class of 2001 took a group picture of all the guys that came to the wedding. There are even a few guys missing in this photo that were there, but had already left. Brian was pretty sure that it was the largest gathering of his class since they graduated. It was great to see so many people after such a long time!

It was a great wedding and we are so happy for Blake and Christina. They are an awesome couple! They are leaving for their honeymoon Christmas afternoon... hope you have a great time!

Martin Wedding

So, this post is a little late, but on October 2, my friend Michelle got married! She asked me to sing in her wedding and I was happy to do so. Also getting married that night, was my college roommate Bailey. Hurt and Benjie came in town for their wedding and stayed with us. It was great to catch up with them! We took a few pics before and at the wedding. It was a really great weekend!

Grunke Wedding

We just got back from Knoxville where we celebrated Meg and Aaron's wedding! It was so much FUN, like a big college reunion. Meg is from Knoxville, so we got to know her family and high school friends well while we were in college. This made her wedding that much more special.

We got into Knoxville Friday night and went straight to Downtown Grill & Brewery, our fav hangout in college. I just want to brag on myself a little bit, because this pregnant girl stayed out until 2:30 a.m.!!!!! Did I mention I love the second trimester? My friends and husband also loved this because they have a constant designated driver. Just a fun conversation from the back of the car after a couple people had one too many:

Ryan: I love having a pregnant friend to drive me home after a night of drinking.
Brian (aka my husband): Me too!
Laughter from the 6 people in my car
Ryan: Cami's not your friend
Brian: I know, she is my best friend
Ryan: Can we stop and get donuts?

Saturday we got up and went to lunch at the greatest place ever, Tomatohead. We also walked around Market Square, got back to Bev and Christian's where we were staying, and got ready for the wedding. The wedding was held at Second Pres Church and the reception was at the Knoxville Museum of Art. After that, we went back to DG&B and AGAIN I stayed out until 2 a.m. and drove everyone home. Quite entertaining. Lots of funny stories, great memories, and an awesome reunion with some of my most favorite people. Enjoy a few pics taken with my camera!

My most favorite family (not counting my own) - the Hurt's!
