Saying Goodbye

On Monday morning, April 27 Brian's sweet grandfather passed away. Although he has been sick for a while, it was still upsetting to receive the news. Say prayers for sweet Brian and his family during this difficult time. Papaw was Brian's last grandparent, and I am so thankful he was well enough to attend our wedding last year and dance the night away. We will miss him, but we are also glad that he is free from suffering.

8th Grade Confirmation

Mallory and Brittany were confirmed yesterday at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. It was a great night, and Mallory was so excited about getting confirmed. I was honored to be her sponsor. She worked hard to get confirmed and I am so proud! I got tears in my eyes when we walked up there together. Every life step for Mallory means so much... she is such a miracle!

It's Miller Time!

This weekend was one for the books. My sorority sister Beverly May got married to Christian Miller. They are the sweetest couple and I couldn't be happier to be a part of their big day. They asked me to sing and my mother played piano, and I thought it turned out nicely. I loved their reception location - Clark Opera Center. I was so excited about all my friends from college coming in town. We started the weekend off with a bang. The rehearsal at the church, then the rehearsal dinner downtown at the Center for Southern Folklore. After that, we went to Silky's with a big group, then as the night went on, made our way to Paula & Raiford's. Made a Krystal's run at 3 a.m. and headed back to East Memphis. So fun!

However, two of our friends were not having fun on Friday, or Saturday morning to be exact. Poor Adrianne and Chris Cowan left Johnson City on Friday with plenty of time to arrive in Memphis. After a lot of car trouble, spending the night in Cookeville, and finally making it to Memphis at 2 p.m. on Saturday, we were all glad to see them. Check out the last picture in my slideshow for how they made it back home! Seriously though, Brian and I would have lost it... so I have to say that Aid and Chris are some of my most patient friends :)

The wedding was Saturday night, and Chris, Aid and Megan Hurt stayed at our place. After a beautiful wedding, we went back to my house and hung out for a bit. Sunday we got up and had all of our out-of-town friends over for some Three Little Pigs bbq. Lots of fun! I was sad to see everyone go. SO many fun pictures from a fun weekend!

Gettin wiggy with it

Big Wig Ball 2009 was a success! We raised $30,000 for the hospital and had a lot of fun in the process. For anyone interested, Brian and I are in a group called YALL - Young Adult Le Bonheur Leaders. It's a fun group that meets regularly and volunteers at the hospital. We hold one big fundraiser every year - Big Wig Ball. Thanks to our friends for coming and supporting a cause near and dear to our hearts! Can't wait for next year!

Easter Happy

For Easter, my sweet mom-in-law gave me a Pandora bracelet. I only recently heard about these and was interested in them. They are charm and bead bracelets that you can add to to symbolize things in your life. Brian always has something to give me now for holidays! My first bead is yellow, because I love yellow and it was the main color of my wedding. They have ones for music, family, siblings, pets, basically anything you can think of. I love these bracelets and they go with anything! I think this is such a fun gift for someone, for any occasion. Here is a finished one below. Mine came from Middleton Jewelers, where sweet Brian has gotten all the jewelry he has given me. So fun!

Happy Easter!

I know, a day late. We spent most of the actually day of Easter recovering from weekend festivities. I had off on Friday, and Brian had to work. So I went to his family's house and hung out with his sisters. Mallory has been dying to see the new Hannah Montana movie. This was my first experience with her true obsession :) It was a lot of fun to see how excited to she got over it all. That night we got together with our Chicago friends Sean and Ashlea. Such a fun night! We checked out the new Raiford's and it was actually fun and bearable, so that was an upgrade.

Saturday night we went to the Death Cab for Cutie concert at the Orpheum. Cold War Kids and Ra Ra Riot opened for them. I loved Ra Ra Riot! They had a really unique sound, and it was the first time I had seen an electric cello in a long time. Death Cab was of course incredible. They are one of my favorite bands. The last time they came to Memphis we had front row seats, and it was quite an experience. We were a little further back this time, but the music was still just as good. I was proud of Brian for going with me and actually enjoying it! :)

Sunday we went to church at St. Louis and had lunch at my parents house afterwards. Some nice pics of my brothers and us below! Hope everyone had a great Easter!
